Moatamed Gamal: The Match Was Very Difficult and We Now Focus on the Confederation
Zamalek coach Moatamed Gamal confirmed that his team's match against Enppi was very difficult, noting that the White team was not at its best during the encounter.
Enppi achieved a 1-0 victory over Zamalek on Wednesday evening in a postponed match from the 15th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Moatamed Gamal said in the press conference after the match: "The match was very difficult for both teams, and I was aware of that. If time had continued, we wouldn't have scored. The match didn't have many opportunities and the opponent also didn't reach the goal much except for the two penalty kicks, as was the case for us."
He added: "We were not in the best condition, God willing, we can separate between league matches and focus on the African championship, and we will work on the mistakes to benefit from them."
He continued: "The field is difficult, and the player must be frugal when deciding to pass because when we lose the ball, we don't recover it quickly. We want to deliver the ball correctly, and when we made a mistake in a previous match, we conceded a goal, and there was congestion between the players of both teams in the middle of the field."
He also said: "I thought about pushing Chico Banza, but there are no spaces and if he participates, I will lose him, and I don't want that because if he loses the ball once or twice in the tight spaces, the pressure from the fans will increase on him, and I preferred to protect him from that, as Bezera is capable of creating more solutions than Chico Banza."
He concluded: "We haven't gone to Congo yet, and the match hasn't been played to affect us, and we work according to our match schedule. We will get out of the psychological state we are in today, we have a break period and we will work during it, we will close the league file and focus on the Confederation. We tried to adjust the date of the Enppi match because of the Confederation match, but our request was denied, and this is not an excuse, and we must focus on the upcoming matches."
