Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois appeared in press statements after the 2-1 victory over Celta Vigo in the 27th round of La Liga, at the Balaidos stadium.

The goalkeeper said: "It is very important to win, especially on the anniversary of our great club's founding (March 6), it is a great joy for all the fans. It was not an easy match. They played with tight defense and were determined to defend, which made things a bit difficult for us."

He added: "We started the game strongly, with our goal, then the post, and some shots... then they got into the game, and in the second half, we were more eager to win than they were. In the end, we had a bit of luck with the post and the rebound, but we also deserved the win."

He emphasized: "I was very happy with Valverde's goal. It wasn't an easy week, and we knew we had to respond today. It is an important win to stay in the competition and build confidence for Wednesday's match. We had ten players missing, and we had to show that everyone here is ready to fight for this team, including the youth team players."
