Rossignol: We Need to Solve This Problem, and We Weren't Decisive
Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior appeared in a press conference following the 2-1 loss against Arsenal in the 28th round of the English Premier League, held at the Emirates Stadium.
The coach said in his talk: "I am frustrated with the final result. We performed well in many aspects, but we lost due to two set-pieces, just like what happened against Burnley last week. We delivered an outstanding performance, both technically and tactically, but we lost because of some crucial moments. The same thing happened against Burnley and Leeds."
Regarding the red cards received by his team players: "I have the utmost respect for the former coach Enzo Maresca. I don't speak about what happened previously, but this issue has started to recur with me (players being sent off). I felt we had addressed this problem, as we played ten matches without any red cards, and now we have two in two matches. This is an issue we need to solve, and the matter of set-pieces requires us to continue working on it."
Regarding Pedro Neto receiving a yellow card for dissent and then another for a violent tackle shortly after: "Perhaps not, honestly, it's very straightforward. This is something we need to address, not just Pedro, but as a whole team, to ensure we have 11 players on the field."
And regarding the pressure on Arsenal at the top: "I don't want to put too much pressure on them, we are Chelsea, and we aim to win matches. We were very good in both penalty areas. I felt we were the much better team in the second half, but we weren't decisive at that moment. Their goalkeeper made some great saves, and on the other hand, we conceded two goals from corners."
