Demichelis Takes Over as Coach of Real Mallorca
Thursday 26-02-2026
Spanish reports mentioned that Argentine Martín Demichelis has become the new coach of Real Mallorca, succeeding the dismissed coach Jagoba Arrasate, to lead the team in a challenging mission aimed at moving out of the relegation zone and securing their stay in La Liga until the end of the season.

An agreement was reached between the two parties, and Demichelis, the former Bayern Munich and Manchester City defender, is preparing to start his new experience with Al Jazira Club.

In the past period, many names were circulated for taking over the team's coaching, such as Javi Gracia and García Pimienta. However, Demichelis, who played in La Liga with Málaga, stood out by accepting the task for the remainder of the season only, without demanding a long-term contract as some other candidates did.

Demichelis will start his work immediately, as he will lead the team's training on Friday to get to know the players. He will play his first official match against Real Sociedad at the Son Moix stadium less than 24 hours after his arrival. During this period, Gustavo Siviero, the coach of Real Mallorca B, temporarily led the team to ensure the continuation of training.
