Barcelona Plans to Loan Virgili to Real Betis
Barcelona is studying the future of Jan Verjil during the summer transfer market, after the player's agents met with the sporting director, Deco, to discuss the options available to him for the next season.
Radio "Cadena SER" reported that the Catalan club plans to bring back the young striker and then loan him to Real Betis, who will participate in the Champions League next season.
Barcelona retains 40% of Vergili's rights, while the buyout clause in his contract with Mallorca has decreased to 12 million euros following the team's relegation. This means Barcelona would need to pay 7.2 million euros to re-sign him.
The two parties also discussed the possibility of the player continuing with Mallorca, but this option became less likely after the club's relegation. If he returns, Barcelona will decide whether to keep him in the first team, loan him out, or sell him, with the option of transferring to Real Betis currently being the most talked about.
