Wednesday 25-02-2026
Barcelona is preparing for a decisive match in the King's Cup semi-final against Atletico Madrid, following a significant defeat in the first leg. Raphinha, the Brazilian winger and one of the team's leaders, speaks about the team's atmosphere and his confidence in the players' ability to achieve a miracle in the return match.

In an exclusive interview with the club's YouTube channel, Raphinha expressed his sense of belonging to the club, saying: "I am another fan of FC Barcelona. I feel the love of the fans, and this is a very special feeling since I arrived at the club."

He added: "It is a great honor for me to wear the captain's armband, and since joining the team, I have tried to give my all. Few players have worn the armband in Barcelona's history, and this is a true privilege for me."

Regarding the second leg of the King's Cup semi-final on Tuesday, March 3, Raphinha stated: "We are confident of delivering a good match against Atletico. We must start from there because if we don't, the comeback will be difficult. If there is a team capable of making a comeback, it is us. With all due respect to our opponent, the task will be tough, but we will try."

He also spoke about the team's atmosphere inside the locker room: "This indoor stadium is very beautiful, everyone loves each other, we are like a family, we spend more time here than with our own families. There is a true friendship, and this is the secret to our success. Everyone tries to be with others, as the seniors connect with the younger players, and the foreigners with the locals."

He continued about his closest colleagues: "Araujo has been special to me since I arrived, as well as Ansu Fati. They have supported me both inside and outside the club, and I am very grateful to them. There are others like Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Sergi Roberto."

When asked about the young players participating in the training, Raphinha explained: "The young players have amazing quality, it's something natural for them and not a result of training." He also spoke about the competition with Marcus Rashford: "We haven't competed side by side, but he is faster than me, his speed is amazing."

He concluded his talk by highlighting the best and worst moments with the club, saying: "The best moment is winning championships and celebrating with the fans, and the hardest was the injuries, you never know why they happen. I am now looking for my best physical version after returning from injury, and this is always a bit difficult. I loved watching Ronaldinho for the first time before I came, and he is one of the prominent Brazilians who opened the door for me and others in this club, and each has their own story which I seek to build my story in the best possible way."
