Hani Shoukry, a member of the board of directors of Zamalek Club, confirmed that the board unanimously rejected the departure of John Edward, the sports director of the Whites.

Hani Shoukry said in a radio statement: "When some people talked about John Edward's contract with Zamalek, he sat with us and asked to tear up the contracts and leave, but the board of directors unanimously refused."

He added: "All of us on the board are aware of all the terms of John Edward's contract and agree with them, and we respect his significant role with the Zamalek team."

Hany Shoukry added: "We must thank John Edward for his role with the Zamalek team and his love and passion for the club. We appreciate all his efforts in developing the team's sports and administrative performance."
