Bayern Munich announced the renewal of their French defender Dayot Upamecano's contract until June 2030, allowing him to continue his career with the Bavarian team in the coming years. The player revealed the reasons that led him to agree to extend his contract, praising the trust of the club, the coaching staff, and his teammates.

Upamecano said: "I felt the club's confidence, and we have a great coach and a great team. I am very happy here. I just want to do my best for the club and the fans and to repay this trust."

He added: "Vincent Kompany is a very open coach and always ready to talk. He is doing a good job and I am very happy with him. I can always turn to him if I feel something is wrong in training. I like that he is such an open coach."

He continued: "Jonathan Tah is a player with extensive experience, having played in the Bundesliga for many years. He communicates with all the players on the field, and he is also an international player who speaks German, English, and French. Jonathan is an excellent player, and I can still learn a lot from him."

Regarding Manuel Neuer, he said: "Manuel Neuer is a legend, not just in Germany, but worldwide. Since I was young, I watched Manuel play, and now I play alongside him. I am extremely grateful to play with Manuel; it gives you great confidence knowing that Manuel supports you."

Regarding not keeping a clean sheet against Borussia Dortmund for a long time, he explained: "Dortmund has always been a great team both offensively and defensively, and they have been very consistent this season. I always strive to keep our goal clean. The most important thing for us is the three points. If we win and keep a clean sheet, that would be ideal for me, but it's considered an additional gain."

He concluded his remarks by saying: "My first title with Bayern Munich was very special; it was my first Bundesliga title, and I hope more will follow in the future."
