Gerard Martin's Stance on Moving to Milan
Wednesday 18-02-2026
The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' revealed that the young defender Gerard Martin, a Barcelona player, has no interest in listening to offers from AC Milan, despite his name being linked to the Italian club in recent days.

According to the same source, the 23-year-old considers his presence in Barcelona as the fulfillment of a childhood dream and feels significant within the first team, having succeeded in establishing himself as a choice for the coach.

Last summer, some Premier League clubs inquired about the possibility of signing Martin, but his desire was clear from the start, which was to continue with Barcelona.

In his first season, he proved his worth in the reserve team, then gained the technical staff's trust in the second season to be an alternative to Alejandro Balde, with consideration to manage the latter's playing minutes, and in his third season, he expanded his roles and was relied upon as a central defender when needed.

The injuries of Andreas Christensen, the absence of Ronald Araujo, and Eric Garcia's participation in the midfield contributed to Martin getting additional opportunities, as he participated in several consecutive matches in the defense axis.

This season, the player has played 34 matches, exceeding 1700 minutes, becoming the twelfth most used player by Flick, and Martin renewed his contract in January 2025 until 2028, with a release clause of 100 million euros.

Despite the interest of European clubs, the source confirms that Gerard Martin is not considering listening to any offers and is determined to continue with Barcelona.
