Army Fans Banned from Attending Pyramids Match
The Confederation of African Football imposed a penalty on the Royal Army Club by banning its fans from attending the match against Pyramids in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
This decision came as a result of a previous penalty issued against the Royal Army in the last edition, which stipulated playing one match in empty stands with a one-year suspension. This followed incidents during their match against Pyramids.
The CAF Disciplinary Committee decided to enforce the postponed match penalty from last season against the Royal Army, following the imposition of a new penalty that bans its audience for two matches, due to the riots that accompanied its first-leg match against Egypt's Al Ahly in Morocco.
Therefore, the Royal Army will be deprived of the support of its fans in the match against Pyramids, in compliance with a previously issued penalty that has been officially enforced.
