Officially.. Zakho Announces Appointment of Ayoub Odisho as Team's Head Coach
Friday 13-02-2026
Zakho Club officially announced its contract with the experienced coach Ayoub Odisho to lead the technical staff of the team in the upcoming phase, succeeding the Qatari coach Wissam Rizq, in a move aimed at correcting the course and improving the team's results in local and Gulf competitions.

The club's management decided to end Rizq's mission due to the decline in the results the team has recently shown, despite some positive periods Zakho displayed this season. The management seeks to make a technical change that gives the team a new boost in the upcoming rounds.

Rizq led Zakho in (17) matches within the Iraqi Stars League, achieving victory in (7) matches, with (4) losses and (6) draws, placing the team in the eighth position on the standings, a position that does not align with the club's ambitions, which aimed to compete for advanced positions.

On the level of external participations, the Qatari coach delivered remarkable results in the Gulf Champions League, leading the team in (5) matches, achieving (3) victories, one draw, and one loss, successfully securing qualification to the semi-finals, topping its group, an achievement reflecting the team's ability to perform strongly abroad.

Ayoub Odisho is considered one of the well-known coaching names in Iraqi stadiums, possessing extensive experience after supervising several clubs and succeeding in achieving many local championships, making Zakho fans hopeful that his presence will help restore the team's balance and lead it to better results.

The club's management hopes this change will quickly reflect on the players' performance on the field, especially as the season enters its decisive stages, looking forward to seeing a more stable team technically and capable of competing strongly in various tournaments.
