Police secured a clean double victory over Zakho at the Zakho International Stadium in Duhok, as part of the 24th round of the Iraqi Stars League, continuing their pursuit of the leader after a performance marked by discipline and focus in critical moments.

Police managed to score the first goal in the 30th minute through Orinio, who accidentally scored an own goal, giving the Green Harp the lead.

With this result, the visitors ended the first half leading by a clean goal against Zakho, amidst mutual attempts that did not succeed in shaking the net again.

As the second half began, in the 55th minute, Zakho missed a penalty awarded to them, executed by Aso Mohamed but brilliantly saved by Hassan Ahmed, keeping the score in favor of Police and giving his team a clear moral boost at a critical time. The Khabor sons tried to return through quick transitions and intensity in the final third, but the defensive organization of the visitors and the alertness of the goalkeeper maintained the advantage.

Before the final whistle and in the injury time, at the 95th minute, Atheer Saleh added the second goal for Police, practically ending the match and confirming the Harp's ability to kill off matches in the final meters.

With this victory, Police raised their tally to 52 points in second place, continuing their chase of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya at the top.

In contrast, Zakho's tally froze at 40 points in seventh place after paying the price for missing the penalty and lacking the final touch in front of the goal.
