Disciplinary Committee in the Gulf Cup Federation Announces Penalties for the Al-Shabab vs Zakho Match
The Disciplinary Committee of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation announced a series of severe penalties following the incidents during the match between Al-Shabab and Zakho in the semi-finals of the Gulf Clubs Champions League.
These decisions came after reviewing the reports of the match referees and observers, in addition to the official notes regarding the violations that occurred during the encounter.
The committee decided to fine Taha Zakhouli, the supervisor of the Iraqi Zakho Club, an amount of 6,000 Qatari Riyals and to ban him from accompanying the team for four matches due to an attempted assault under Article 54.
A fine of 5000 Qatari riyals was also imposed on the player Amjad Atwan, in addition to suspending him for four matches, for the same reason related to the attempted assault.
The sanctions also included goalkeeper Ali Kazem, who was fined 5,000 Qatari riyals and suspended for four matches due to his involvement in similar behavior.
In the same context, the committee issued a warning to Al-Shabab Club along with a financial penalty of 300,000 Qatari riyals, in addition to bearing the costs of damages resulting from fan riots.
Zakho Club was not spared from penalties, as it received a similar warning and a fine of 300,000 Qatari Riyals, with an obligation to cover any losses resulting from the crowd incidents.
The Disciplinary Committee emphasized its commitment to strictly enforcing the regulations, stressing the importance of maintaining sportsmanship and discipline both on and off the field.
