Barcelona Continues to Recover Under Flick's Leadership After Harsh Defeats
Friday 13-02-2026
Hans Flick, the head coach of Barcelona, has demonstrated his team's ability to quickly recover after significant defeats, as statistics from the current and previous seasons have shown a high level of resilience in dealing with negative results.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Barcelona, under the leadership of Flick, has played 97 official matches since the summer of 2024, during which the team suffered only 15 defeats across all competitions, including 6 losses in the current season out of 37 matches.

The statistics showed that the team won the next match after 11 out of 14 defeats, drew once, and lost only twice. These consecutive defeats occurred in the previous season, where they lost to Leganes 1-0 on December 15, 2024, and then to Atletico Madrid 2-1, both at home in La Liga.

The current season also recorded a defeat against Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League, followed by a 4-1 loss to Sevilla five days later.

The follow-up indicates that some reactions after severe defeats lasted for long periods, most notably the series from last season that extended for 24 matches from January 4, 2025, after the victory over Barbastro in the King's Cup, until April 12 with a 1-0 win over Leganés, achieving 20 victories and 4 draws.

The best recovery streak after a major defeat this season was following a 3-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on November 25, 2025. The team did not lose again until facing Real Sociedad on January 18, 2026, winning 2-1 and achieving 11 consecutive victories.
