Mohamed Nour Reveals Details of Kante's Departure from Al-Ittihad
Monday 09-02-2026
Mohamed Nour, the former Al-Ittihad star, revealed new details behind the departure of Frenchman N'Golo Kante from the team and his decision not to continue until the end of his contract this season.

Nour explained that the club's management began negotiations with Kanté by offering a one-year contract renewal, but the French player expressed reservations and requested a two-year extension.

He pointed out that the club returned with an improved offer, which included the same financial value and for two seasons, but Kanté's response was a refusal, leading to the decision to terminate the contractual relationship.

Noor explained that the federation later agreed to Kante's departure as part of a swap deal with the Turkish club Fenerbahçe, in exchange for signing the Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

He added that the deal involved the club paying a smaller financial difference as part of the technical restructuring of the team following the significant changes to the roster during the winter.

The retired Union star pointed out that the signing of Youssef En-Nesyri was to compensate for the departure of Frenchman Karim Benzema, who ended his contract and moved to Al-Hilal during the winter transfer window.

Kanté's deal is considered one of the most prominent transfers of the winter market, due to its technical value and its direct impact on the shape of the team in the upcoming phase.
