A Final Attempt by Al-Ittihad to Secure the Deal for Kante and En-Nesyri
Al-Ittihad Club is holding onto the last thread of hope to finalize a swap deal with Turkey's Fenerbahçe, which involves the Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri moving to the club, in exchange for the departure of the Frenchman N'Golo Kanté in the past few hours.
According to the Saudi sports newspaper, the managements of Al-Ittihad and Fenerbahçe are seeking to reach an urgent legal solution that would allow the completion of the two deals, following the resolution of the technical issue related to the electronic transfer registration system.
The newspaper clarified that the ongoing attempts between the two parties are progressing positively, with a mutual desire to officially finalize the procedures after addressing the issue that previously disrupted the deal.
Previous reports attributed the stumbling of the agreement to the failure of the union to finalize the deal for Portuguese player Gustavo Sá from Famalicão, which led to the freezing of the transfer process for Kanté and En-Nesyri.
In the same context, Fenerbahçe Club issued an official statement confirming that the transfer of Kanté to its ranks and En-Nesyri to Al-Ittihad has been fully prepared in terms of medical examinations and official approvals.
The Turkish club indicated that the incorrect entry of some data into the Transfer Management System (TMS) by Al-Ittihad Club prevented the registration of the two deals within the specified time.
Fenerbahçe added that it contacted the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in an attempt to resolve the crisis, but the other party's failure to complete the procedures led it to apologize to its fans.
The union's insistence on including Youssef En-Nesyri comes as a compensation for the departure of the French player Karim Benzema to Al-Hilal, especially after the club previously announced its signing of Georges Elenikna from Monaco to strengthen the team's lineup.
