Olympic Safi Defeats San Pedro and Nears Confederation Cup Quarter-Finals

Olympic Safi secured a valuable away victory by defeating their host, Ivorian team San Pedro, with a score of 2-1 in the match held on Sunday evening, as part of the third round of the group stage in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Safi team entered the match with strength, surprising the home team with an early goal scored by Imad Khannous in the first minute, giving his team a psychological advantage from the start. San Pedro managed to equalize in the 36th minute through player Kara, taking advantage of a set piece.

Before the end of the first half, Olympique Safi regained their lead after Soufiane El Mouden successfully converted a penalty in the 40th minute, a goal that restored balance to the team and gave them the advantage as they headed to the locker rooms.

In the second half, the representative of Moroccan football managed the course of the match well and maintained their lead despite the Ivorian team's attempts to come back in the score, successfully securing three valuable points away from home.

With this victory, Olympique Safi increased its tally to six points, occupying the second place in the standings of Group A, behind the leader USM Alger with nine points. Meanwhile, San Pedro's tally remained at three points in third place, while Djoliba of Mali is at the bottom of the standings with no points.
