Olympique Safi returned with a valuable victory from Mali, having defeated their hosts Djoliba 1-0 in the match held at the 26 March Stadium in the capital, Bamako, on Sunday evening, as part of the first round of the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The match was officiated by a refereeing team from Botswana, led by referee Tabang Kitsapil, assisted by Okidits Kitsiobi and Kigakolo Jetswe Loukie.

The Msafiri team scored their valuable goal in the 29th minute, courtesy of Salahuddin Al-Rahouli, who capitalized on an assist from Soufiane Al-Moudan, granting the "Sharks" an important three points away from home.

With this victory, the Moroccan football representative temporarily rose to the top of the group, pending the result of the second match between Algeria's USM Alger and Ivory Coast's San Pedro.
