Inter coach Mikel Arteta appeared in a press statement after the 3-1 victory over Inter in the seventh round of the Champions League group stage, at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

The coach said: "I am very proud of the team. We said before the match that we needed a special performance, and we certainly delivered that today. We rose to another level, and to achieve that in this stadium against one of the best teams in Europe is something completely different. The important thing was to try to be better than them. They manage and control matches very well, and we knew we would have to do that on the pitch and with the substitutes."

Regarding Gabriel Jesus: "He is an incredible player, and the bigger the match, the more comfortable he becomes in his performance. He deserves the Man of the Match award."

On Christian Musquera's recovery from injury: "The medical side is tough, and the physiotherapists work long hours all day because they know we are suffering from a shortage in the defense line. It’s great."

About Victor Jukeris: "His impact was excellent. The match was heading towards a style that suited him very much. He had two chances and scored one. For him, this is the second away match in which he delivers a very good performance, and he is starting to find consistency."

He concluded regarding the possibility of loaning Ethan Nwaneri: "I don’t know. We will have a discussion this week. He is not getting the minutes he needs and deserves at this age. We have to discuss how we want to proceed with this matter."
