Magdy Abdel Ghani, former Al Ahly star, confirmed that the Senegal national team is a strong contender to win the Africa Cup of Nations currently being held in Morocco.

The Senegal national team defeated the Egypt national team 1-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations semifinal to face Morocco in the tournament final.

Abdel Ghani stated in his remarks on the program "Ya Masa' Al Anwar" on the channel "MBC Masr 2" that Senegal is technically and tactically superior to the Egyptian national team and imposed its well-known style based on ball possession throughout the match, which demonstrated its merit as a technically better team.

He added: "The capabilities of the Senegal national team clearly indicate that they are better than the Egypt national team at the moment, and they were superior in every aspect during the match."

Abdel Ghani touched on the comparison between the Senegal and Ivory Coast teams, saying: "I do not see Ivory Coast as better than Senegal. There is a clear difference between the two teams, and if a match were held between them, the advantage would be in favor of Senegal, and they would succeed in achieving victory."

He concluded by saying that Senegal is a strong contender to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.
