Hossam Hassan: Ready to Compete in the World Cup, We Want to Make the Egyptian People Happy
Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, spoke in a press statement exclusively to the FIFA website, a few days before the start of the football festival.
Hossam Hassan said: "I was happy to represent the Egyptian national team in the 1990 World Cup as a player, and it is a great honor for me to be present in the 2026 edition as the head coach of the Egyptian national team in this significant event, along with a distinguished and strong group of players who dream of making Egyptian and Arab fans happy, and giving everything they have to reach the furthest point in the World Cup."
He added: "Thank God for qualifying for the World Cup, and the Egyptian national team deserves to be present in this tournament more consistently and significantly than it is now."
Hassan emphasized that he prefers not to talk before tournaments, focusing instead on taking the necessary steps to achieve strong and distinguished results and performances. He explained that he is focused on preparing his team strongly, selecting the best, most ready, and suitable players, and studying the opponents well to determine strengths and weaknesses. All these aspects help in achieving success.
He continued: "The Egyptian people deserve us to give everything we have to make them happy. We usually strive to prepare well before any challenge we face, whether before the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the World Cup qualifiers, or the tournament itself. Our goal is always to create a healthy and calm environment for the players to give their best, focus, harmonize, and compete to represent the Egyptian national team in matches."
He concluded: "The team is ready to compete in the tournament, and we promise the fans that we will give everything we have to make them happy and for them to always be proud of us."
The Egyptian national team is in Group G, which includes Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.
