Senegalese Federation Clarifies Truth About Video of Players Being Searched at Airport

Tuesday 09-06-2026
The Senegalese Football Federation issued an official statement in response to a video circulating on social media, which showed the national team players and coaching staff undergoing security checks at an airport terminal. The statement emphasized that the incident was misinterpreted in some of the narratives being shared.

The statement clarified that the inspection did not occur upon arrival in San Antonio as claimed, but rather took place on June 7 at Raleigh Airport, during the boarding of the delegation onto the plane and before the departure time, as part of logistical arrangements for the trip.

The federation added that the bus transporting the team from the hotel in Raleigh went directly to the airport tarmac, allowing all security and police checks to be conducted at the aircraft's stairs, without the need to go through the airport's internal terminals, in order to facilitate and expedite travel procedures on the special flight to San Antonio.

The Senegalese federation confirmed that all procedures were carried out in accordance with the security regulations in place at airports, without any incidents or problems being recorded. It noted that the special flight between Raleigh and San Antonio took place under good conditions, and the delegation arrived at its destination smoothly.
