Qatari club Al-Wakrah officially announced the completion of a remarkable transfer deal by signing the experienced Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto.

The official contracts were signed between the player and the club officials in the presence of the head of the football department. The contract duration is one and a half seasons, with the player moving to the Blue Wave from Al-Duhail club.

The 33-year-old Spanish player has had a rich football career in Europe, having played for several prominent clubs, most notably English club Liverpool, Malaga, and Deportivo La Coruña in Spain, in addition to a long and successful career with Italian club Lazio before arriving in Qatar.

Alberto plays as an attacking midfielder and is expected to be a significant addition to the midfield and attack lines at Al-Wakrah. The club aims through this signing to compete strongly in local championships.
