Official: Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Returns as President of Qatari Football Association

The Executive Office of the Qatar Football Association has announced the appointment of Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani as president of the association, reclaiming the position he held for years, until the end of the current board's term in 2027. It has also been decided to appoint Sheikh Tamim Bin Mohammed Al Thani as vice president of the association, as part of the restructuring of the association's administrative leadership.

The decision comes after a series of changes within the Qatari football administration in recent times, as Sheikh Hamad returns to the presidency of the federation, benefiting from his long experience in football management, having previously led the federation during a period marked by numerous achievements at both local and continental levels, in addition to his contribution to establishing Qatar's position on the international football stage.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani is one of the most prominent sports figures in Qatar, as he also holds membership in the FIFA Council and the Executive Committee of the Asian Football Confederation, in addition to presiding over the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Association, which gives him extensive experience in managing football affairs at various levels.

Sheikh Hamad is expected to lead the next phase of the Qatar Football Association, which includes preparations for continental and international competitions, as well as continuing to implement plans for the development of Qatari football, focusing on supporting national teams and enhancing the clubs' performance in various tournaments, until the next elections in 2027.
