A news report revealed that Manchester United has identified Spanish coach Luis Enrique as one of the top candidates to take over the team's long-term management, as part of the club's plans to make a major appointment next summer.

According to the report, Michael Carrick will continue to lead the team until the end of the current season, on a short-term contract of just six months, while the club prefers to keep all options open before making a final decision regarding the permanent manager.

The sources explained that Manchester United's management is looking for a coach with a proven track record of titles, which makes Luis Enrique admired within the club, especially after his previous successes with Barcelona, as well as the work he is currently doing with Paris Saint-Germain.

The report indicated that the Spanish coach will enter the final 12 months of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain without having reached an agreement on an extension so far, which could open the door for a potential move from Manchester United.
