Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Atlético Madrid is now prepared to agree to the sale of their English midfielder Conor Gallagher for a fee of £25 million, should they receive a suitable offer in the near future.

Jacobs explained that the required fee has seen a slight decrease compared to what the club demanded during last summer's transfer window, and that Atlético's management still prefers any potential departure of the player to be permanent, in line with their current transfer policy.

The same source indicated that the option of a loan with an obligation to buy remains on the table as a compromise, provided there is an arrangement that guarantees Atlético Madrid a permanent transfer of the player eventually.

In this context, Ben Jacobs confirmed that Aston Villa is among the clubs that have made initial inquiries about Gallagher's situation, although the discussions have not yet reached an advanced stage.
