Abdelli Rejects Olympique Lyon Offer and Prefers to Move to Marseille
Algerian international Hamed Abdelali has rejected an official offer from the French club Olympique Lyonnais to sign him during the current winter transfer window.
Abdelli's contract with his current club, Angers SCO in France, expires at the end of next season, giving him the right to negotiate with any club in preparation for joining them on a free transfer, or to leave during this January transfer window if an agreement is reached with his club's management.
Turkish journalist specializing in transfer market news, Ekrem Konur, revealed that the Algerian national team player officially rejected Olympique Lyon's offer, preferring another option to continue his career in the French league.
The same source explained, via his account on the "X" platform, that Abdelli prefers to move to Olympique Marseille, which offered him a five-year contract, reflecting the player's desire to embark on a new experience with a club competing for top positions.
On the other hand, the journalist pointed out that the management of Angers club does not oppose the idea of selling the player's contract during the current transfer window, for an amount ranging between 4 and 5 million euros.
Abdelli is 26 years old and has participated in 13 matches this season wearing the Angers jersey, scoring two goals. He was also called up by the Algerian national team coach Vladimir Petković for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to replace Houssam Aouar, who is absent due to injury.
