Ivory Coast Coach: Our Goal is to Reach the Final and We Have Studied Egypt Well
Emerson Faye, the coach of the Ivory Coast national team, confirmed that his team's goal is to reach the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, noting that he has studied the Egyptian team thoroughly.
The Egyptian national team will face the Ivory Coast national team tomorrow, Saturday, at the Adrar Stadium in the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
In a press conference broadcasted by beIN Sports, Faye said that there is a great similarity between the current version of the Egyptian national team and the one that faced Ivory Coast in 2006. This similarity lies in their defensive solidity; it is a well-rounded team skilled in both defense and scoring.
He spoke about the injuries within his team, saying that he had 4 days to prepare, and the team recovered well.
He added: "There were some minor injuries, nothing serious. Baio Fakon returned to training on Wednesday, while Odilon Kosono and Othman Diomande complained of some fatigue. We will assess their readiness after tonight's training session."
