Burklemans: I Expect the Egypt-Belgium Match to End in a Draw
The Belgian Vital Borkelmans, former star of the Belgian national team, believes that his country's match against Egypt will be very strong and expects the encounter to end in a 1-1 draw.
During an intervention via the "Zoom" application on the program "Ya Masa'a Al Anwar" broadcast on MBC Egypt 2, Burklemans said: "I expect a very strong match, and I remember our game against Brazil. The Belgian press views the Egyptian national team with great respect because it includes high-level players like Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush. It is also a cohesive team that plays with a collective spirit and will present a strong match against Belgium."
He added: "According to what is being reported in the Belgian newspapers, most of the players are ready to face Egypt, but Jeremy Doku is at risk of being absent due to not being fully prepared, and his participation could pose a significant risk."
He continued: "The Egyptian national team has very distinguished players, foremost among them Mohamed Salah, who is an exceptional player with special abilities and will be one of the key elements of the match, alongside Omar Marmoush, the star of Manchester City, and also Mostafa Ziko, who has recently joined the national team."
He expressed his confidence in the Belgian team's ability to reach the Pharaohs' goal despite the strength of the Egyptian defense, stating: "The Egyptian team has a strong defense, but Belgium is capable of scoring, and I expect the match to end in a 1-1 draw."
