Marmoush: We Will Not Settle for Just Participation.. We Strive to Surpass the Group Stage
Omar Marmoush, the star of the Egyptian national team, confirmed that the Pharaohs aim to advance beyond the group stage in the 2026 World Cup.
The Egyptian national team is in Group G alongside the teams of Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.
Marmoush said in an interview with "Manchester City" magazine: "We will not be satisfied with just participating; we aim to advance beyond the group stage and focus on each match individually. We want to show the world the best image of ourselves."
He added: "We are the best team in Africa thanks to the quality of the players and team spirit, and our mission is not just fame but to prove our capabilities on the global stage."
He continued: "The atmosphere among the players is full of banter to ease the tension, but football remains the focus of our lives. Salah is a great source of inspiration for me, and he continues to perform excellently. The Egyptian people are proud of all of us."
