The 'Fichajes' website confirmed that Manchester City is targeting the signing of the Colombian international Juan Locomí, the defender of Italian club Bologna, to strengthen the team's defense line in the 2026 winter transfer market, after the team suffered several injuries among its main defenders.

Locomí comes as an ideal option for Pep Guardiola due to his experience in the Italian league, his ability to cover quickly and read the game, in addition to his strength in aerial attacks and his contribution to building play from the back, having played about 150 matches with Bologna since joining in 2022.

However, Bologna does not seem ready to let go of their player mid-season, especially with the team's struggle for spots qualifying for European competitions, making negotiations complicated despite City's economic power, which could be decisive in completing the deal.

Manchester City is monitoring alternative options, including Nathan Aké and the young player Jhosanov from City, to cover the defense position, but Locomí remains the most prominent choice to enhance the team's defensive stability in the English Premier League and the Champions League.

Currently, negotiations remain in the exploratory phase, awaiting the English club to make an official offer capable of convincing Bologna, given the limited time before the winter transfer window closes.
