Manchester City Football Club confirmed in an official statement on its website today, Monday, that player Josko Gvardiol has suffered a fracture in his right shin bone.

 

The player was injured during the second half of the team's match against Chelsea, which ended in a 1-1 draw in the 20th round of the English Premier League on Sunday.

The club said: "Gvardiol is scheduled to undergo surgery later this week, with ongoing assessments to determine the severity of the injury and accurate recovery expectations."

It concluded: "The club's management and all its staff wish the player a speedy recovery, affirming that the club will provide the public with regular updates on his rehabilitation stages."

According to multiple press reports, Gvardiol's season is practically over, and it will be difficult for him to play again this season.
