Guardiola: It Was a Good Match, and the Road Is Still Long

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola appeared in a press statement following the 0-0 draw against Sunderland in the nineteenth round of the English Premier League, held at the Stadium of Light.

The coach said in his statement: "It was a good match. We take a point. The second half was excellent. We missed many opportunities. We couldn't score inside the six-yard box."

He added: "How many times did we get the ball inside the six-yard box in front of the goalkeeper or another player and failed to convert it into a goal? Of course, they threatened our goal; they are very good. I am very happy with the performance, especially in the second half."

He emphasized: "We created many opportunities against this team in this stadium, especially in the second half. The first half was simply difficult for us because we struggled to deal with their high pressing, but Rodri gave us the second pass to break through the lines, and we were able to launch forward. The second half was much better."

He concluded: "They have very physically strong players, so what happened is not surprising. We take the point. The road is long, and the result is always what it is."
