Hazem Emam said on "On Sport" channel: "Zamalek is going through one of the worst periods in its history, and it's the first time I've seen the club in this state."
He added: "Zamalek is going through a very difficult phase that may not bring back the Zamalek we are used to."
He added: "I hope everyone unites so that Zamalek can regain its status as a popular force in Egyptian sports. The difficult circumstances and crises the club is going through should not be ignored."
He continued: "Zamalek has reached its current state as a result of wrong policies that led to many crises and problems."
He concluded: "Zamalek's decline will affect sports in general; it will impact all sports and national teams in Egypt."
