Milan Wants to Hold Direct Talks to Resolve Maignan's Contract Issue
Tuesday 30-12-2025
Tutto Sport revealed that Italian club Milan is still seeking to reach an agreement to renew the contract of French goalkeeper Mike Maignan, which expires at the end of the 2025/2026 season, through direct face-to-face talks with the player's agent Jonathan Kébé in the coming weeks.

The report indicated that if Maignan does not agree to renew, he will become available as a free agent starting next January, allowing him to negotiate with any other club before his contract with Rossoneri ends.

The source explained that Milan offered their French goalkeeper a net salary estimated at 7 million euros annually, including bonuses, with 5.5 million euros guaranteed, while the remainder is paid as additional bonuses, placing him on the same level as Rafael Leão as the highest-paid players at the club.

Milan plans to tie Maignan to a contract lasting three and a half years with an option to extend, making the contract run until 2029 or 2030, to ensure the goalkeeper's stability in the coming period.

The source confirmed that the club officially requested Maignan's presence during the meeting with his agent, aiming to finalize the player's future before the start of the winter transfer window, in a move that confirms Rossoneri's keenness to secure the continuity of the team's first-choice goalkeeper.
