Lamine Yamal, Barcelona star, was awarded the Best Under-23 Player in La Liga at the Globe Soccer Awards 2025 ceremony, after an exceptional season in which he contributed to Barcelona winning the Spanish League, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup titles.

Yamal said after going up to receive the award from Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport": "I am very happy that a legend like Andrés is giving me this award."

He continued: "It is a great honor to receive the award from him; he is someone I have always watched on TV, and I am extremely pleased. What made me even happier was the congratulatory message from my mother; they have always been my support and close circle. How do I describe myself? A cheerful and simple person."

Yamal went on about the awards he received: "I want to thank the club and my family for this award. My father is here, and we are happy with the awards. I will continue to work hard to win more."

Andrés Iniesta praised the young player's talent, saying: "Lamine Yamal's talent is a privilege for Barcelona fans and the national team. It is a unique feeling when Camp Nou chants your name; it is an expression of gratitude, the most beautiful thing."

Yamal added after receiving the Best Forward in the World award for 2025: "Last year, I was just a new player who had recently joined, but now I bear greater pressure as an important player in my team and national team. But thank God things went well. I think it is better not to compare yourself to anyone. There are players like Ronaldo who achieved what they did because he wanted to be himself."
