Ahmed Abdel Raouf: Smouha Match Among Zamalek's Worst in Recent Period
Ahmed Abdel Raouf, the head coach of Zamalek, confirmed that his team played one of their worst matches against Smouha in the Egypt Capital Cup.
Zamalek lost to Smouha 1-0 in a match held on Thursday evening in the third round of the Egypt Capital Cup.
Abdel Raouf said at the press conference after the match: "There were many mistakes in today's game, and the character of the Zamalek team did not show in the first half. It appeared somewhat in the second half, but I am not satisfied with the performance against Smouha."
He continued: "We use young players within the available limits and according to the available capabilities. We are careful not to overuse the players, and it is difficult to play them extensively in matches. We are not considering Pyramids' or Al Ahly's participation in the tournament with young players."
Ahmed Abdel Raouf continued: "We entered today's match with everyone feeling that we had secured the win, but that is not true. As I said, I am not completely satisfied with the team."
He continued: "We knew we would face a good team that is physically well-prepared, so I started with Amr Nasser as a starter. We preferred to bring in Nasser Mansi and Uday Al-Dabbagh in the second half to gradually ease them into the match. As for Anas Wael, he will participate and get an opportunity."
He concluded his statements: "Bezira is an important player for the team, and it is natural in football for any player to have good or bad performances. Overall, this match was one of Zamalek's worst games in recent times."
