Donis Announces His Ambition to Coach the Saudi Green Team and Comments on His Future
Greek coach Georgios Donis, the head coach of Saudi club Al-Khaleej, revealed his stance on the possibility of taking over as the coach of the Saudi national team in the near future, affirming his willingness to undertake this experience if given the opportunity.
Donnis said in statements published by the Saudi newspaper "Al-Yaum": "I wish to coach both the Greek and Saudi national teams, and I feel proud to be part of the Saudi football system," pointing to his great appreciation for the progress football is witnessing in the Kingdom.
The Greek coach confirmed that he has contributed recently to introducing several players to the Saudi national team, which reflects his confidence in the quality of local players and their ability to compete at the highest levels.
Donnis's statements come amid recent media reports suggesting that the Saudi Football Federation is considering making changes to the national team's coaching staff, with the possibility of dismissing the French coach Hervé Renard and relying on one of the coaches from the Roshn League to lead the "Falcons" during the World Cup scheduled for next June in the United States.
