AS Roma plans to strengthen its squad significantly during the upcoming winter transfer window, as part of its effort to compete for a spot qualifying for the UEFA Champions League this season, according to the newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport."

The newspaper mentioned that Roma has shown clear interest in Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin, along with its intention to resume negotiations after the Christmas break to sign Giacomo Raspadori from Atlético Madrid and Joshua Zirkzee, the Manchester United forward.

According to the same source, Giallorossi plan to sign four players in January: two forwards, a central defender, and a potential midfielder. Regarding Raspadori, the club is seeking to reach a suitable agreement with Atlético Madrid to bring him back to the Italian league, while also pushing to convince Manchester United to accept a loan deal for Zirkzee with an option to buy, despite the English club's hesitation to let him go in the winter.

The newspaper added that Drăgușin is considered a key target for the defense, as Roma is studying the possibility of signing him on loan with an option to buy, especially given coach Gian Piero Gasperini's admiration for his abilities and the Romanian international's desire to move to the capital to revive his career.

In midfield, the report highlighted Morten Frendrup, a Genoa player, as the main target, with the possibility of discussing a swap loan deal involving Nicolo Piselli, who could reunite with Daniele De Rossi, one of his admirers.
