Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Ela, head of the medical team for the Egyptian national team, announced the details of the injuries sustained by the duo Mohamed Hamdy and Mostafa Mohamed in yesterday's match against Zimbabwe.
The Egyptian national team succeeded in defeating the Zimbabwean national team 2-1 yesterday, Monday, in the first round of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Abu Al-Ala said in statements to the media center of the Egyptian Federation that the scans confirmed Mohamed Hamdy suffered bruises and a hematoma in the pelvic bones, and that Mostafa Mohamed sustained a bruise on his ankle.
He added that the duo will undergo an intensive rehabilitation program in hopes of participating in the match against South Africa next Friday in the second round of the tournament.
