Shobeir Comments on Mohamed Awad's Request for Investigation by Zamalek
Sports commentator Ahmed Shobeir commented on Mohamed Awad, the goalkeeper of Zamalek, requesting his club's management to investigate him.
Shobeir said in a radio statement: "Mohamed Awad refused to have any deductions made from his dues at Zamalek, and he told them, 'I want an investigation to be conducted with me, why would you deduct from me?!'"
He continued: "There was an issue with Awad during the match between Zamalek and Kaizer Chiefs in the African Confederation Cup when the Zamalek coaching staff put Mohamed Sobhi on the field, and since then Mohamed Awad has been upset."
Shobeir added: "Mahmoud Awad says, 'I haven't gotten married and I haven't caused any problems; I just refused to sit on the bench.' That's really strange, Awad. What do you mean you refused to be a substitute?"
He continued: "In general, the Zamalek management will just investigate you and that's it."
Shobeir concluded: "I don't know what will happen, but it's a bit strange. A player refusing to sit on the bench is unusual. By the way, I really like Awad and he is a very good friend of mine, but rules are rules."
