Hossam Hassan: I Hope to Win the Title Just Like I Did as a Player Before
Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, spoke about his team's readiness for the match against Zimbabwe in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Egyptian national team will face Zimbabwe this evening, Monday, in the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Hossam Hassan said in the pre-match press conference: "I feel Salah's ambition and desire during the current camp for Egypt. He had faced a crisis in form for a while but returned to his performance through the Egyptian national team, then shone at Liverpool. I see that he will deliver a wonderful tournament and will remain one of the best players in the world. Salah needs to win this title, and he must help himself, we must help him, and I see that during training, he looks as if he is still at the beginning of his journey with the national team."
Hossam Hassan pointed out that he hopes to win the Africa Cup of Nations title with the Pharaohs, just as he did as a player before.
He added: "We know the value of the Africa Cup of Nations for the Egyptian fans, and we are ready to face Zimbabwe. We have studied Zimbabwe well; they have professional players, and we are ready for the title."
He continued: "The champion must always be prepared for any confrontation. We have a current generation continuing the journey with another generation, and we have young age groups seeking to achieve glory for themselves. The tournament is tough, and all teams have chances. Big teams like Morocco, Senegal, and others compete and strive for the title, and we are playing for the title, and both the players and fans know that."
