Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta praises team strength and positive return of Jesus
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta spoke in a press conference after the 3-0 victory over Club Brugge in the sixth round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
The coach said: "We know how tough the Champions League is, and winning away from home, especially with such a large number of players absent, makes the achievement much greater."
He added about Christian Nørgaard's participation: "He is perhaps the best prepared player among all of us. He is the one who makes us all better every day. He can play in any position, whether he plays more minutes or fewer, his attitude is an excellent example for all of us."
Regarding the difficulty of choosing the players: "Madueke and Martinelli were outstanding today; the level of threat they posed and their finishing were incredible. Jesus's return after 11 months and seeing him perform at this level was very positive."
He continued about Gabriel Jesus's return, who came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute: "There is a moment when you almost feel alone and have to go through pain and uncertainty. He has experienced this several times in his career, and this shows his mental strength and great love for playing football. We are very happy to have him back."
He concluded: "Now it's about managing the situations we have in the defensive line. Some players were available but couldn't play more than 45 or 30 minutes. Managing this was difficult, but with the players' mentality, I know that if I ask any player to play in any position, they can do it, and they did a great job."
