Guardiola: We Scored Outstanding Goals, and This Cannot Be Denied
Saturday 06-12-2025
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola spoke in a press conference after the 3-0 victory over Sunderland in the fifteenth round of the English Premier League.

The coach said in his speech: "Outstanding goals, and Ruben Dias's goal was the most important, the first goal. It was really wonderful. What I want is a good cross, whether from the right or the left. The best player in the history of the game is Lionel Messi, and he always did the simple things. Ryan Sherki is a great talent; if the cross is good, that's excellent, and if it's not good, then it isn't."

He added about Sunderland: "We know what they have done so far; they have taken points from teams in the top six positions, and they are still a good team. Today, we delivered a great performance. They had a clear chance from a mistake we made, but we are doing many things well."

About Nico Gonzalez: "Exceptional — he delivered an outstanding performance against Liverpool. He is still young, and without Rodri and Kovacic, he has become very important to us. An amazing player, a great personality, and he has many years ahead of him."

He continued, "We created more opportunities, received fewer opportunities, and we were very good."

He concluded: "Was it a good day after Arsenal and Chelsea stumbled? I can't deny that, but from my experience, winning the Premier League depends on how you perform and how you develop. You have to be consistent, match after match and day after day, and deliver a good performance. That's what we're aiming for. Overall, we were good, but not for the full 90 minutes. Today was the first time we played a full 90 minutes with truly high quality. We've talked a lot about that, and today the team was at its highest level throughout the entire 90 minutes."
