Syrian striker Omar Al Soma, who plays for the Saudi club Al-Hazem, denied the reports claiming that he avoided representing his national team in the Arab Cup, currently being held in Qatar from December 1 to 18. He affirmed his consistent commitment to his national duties.

Al-Soma said in an official statement published on his Facebook account that he congratulates the Syrian national team for the outstanding level they have shown in the tournament, wishing the players success in their journey. He added: "I congratulate my brothers, the players of the Syrian national team, on their wonderful performance in the Arab Cup, and God willing, the cup will be yours."

The Al-Hazem striker addressed the statements made by the president of the Syrian Football Federation, Firas Tayt, and the official Mowafaq Fathallah, who accused him of not responding or cooperating with their invitation to join the national team. He said, "I want to clarify to the Syrian fans and the sports community that I always respond when called up to the national team, and I have never neglected my duty towards my country."

Al-Soma concluded his statement by emphasizing his commitment to the interests of the national team and the players during the tournament period, stressing that he will reserve his full right to respond and provide a detailed clarification after the conclusion of the Arab Cup competitions. This comes in light of previous statements from officials of the Syrian Football Federation, who indicated that the player ignored the invitation and hinted at taking disciplinary action against him.
