Shobier: Zamalek Owes Around 40 Million Dollars
Sports broadcaster Ahmed Shobier, former Al Ahly star, commented on the difficult situation that Zamalek Club is currently experiencing.
FIFA had decided to lift the new registration ban on the football team of the White Club.
Ahmed Shobeir said in radio statements today, Thursday: "Tell me what to say because some people are accusing me of having it in for Zamalek. Yesterday, FIFA suspended Zamalek's registration again, and through sources within Zamalek, we learned that this time the issue concerns Ferjani Sassi."
Shobeir explained: "We are starting to go down a dark path, meaning constant registration suspensions—previously due to Gomis, before him Christian Gross—and all those cases didn’t exceed $300,000. Ferjani Sassi alone amounts to $505,000, and the total amount owed by Zamalek is $778,000 because of registration suspension cases, approximately $778,000."
Shobeir added: "I was supposed to give you some news today as part of my job, but what can I say so it doesn't sound like I'm stirring trouble? I swear, every time I mention what's happening, people say, 'Come on, man...!' Zamalek is currently owed nearly 40 million dollars."
