Zamalek Club is facing a major crisis with the approach of the winter transfer window, as it needs to pay an amount estimated at 36 million Egyptian pounds to lift the registration ban imposed on it by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) for three consecutive periods, which will take effect starting next January.

FIFA recently announced the suspension of player registration for Zamalek for the sixth time, due to the club’s failure to pay the dues owed to Tunisian player Ferjani Sassi, a former team member who transferred to Al-Gharafa in Qatar, amid a series of accumulated financial issues faced by the white club in recent years.

According to the newspaper "Youm7," Zamalek's management is required to pay the dues of several former coaches, including $120,000 to the Portuguese José Gomes and his assistants, $133,000 to the Swiss Christian Gross, in addition to $505,000 to Ferjani Sassi, bringing the total amount owed to the equivalent of 36 million Egyptian pounds.

The club management is currently working on finding urgent solutions to provide the necessary financial liquidity, hoping to lift the suspension before the start of the winter transfer window, in order to enable the team to strengthen its squad after a long struggle due to the registration ban and the inability to support the team with new players.
