Zamalek Football Director: Abdelraouf Does Not Allow Interference in His Work
Abdelnasser Mohamed, the football director of Zamalek Club, confirmed that the club has imposed a penalty on one of the players after he committed a mistake described as "against himself and the team." He emphasized that the severity of the penalty will not be disclosed, as the club does not see the need to respond to every issue raised with the intention of distracting the team.
Abdel Nasser said in a press statement: "We are not obligated to respond to every piece of news aimed at distracting the team. This is an outdated approach."
He added that head coach Ahmed Abdelraouf has a strong personality and does not allow any interference in his work, affirming: "Abdelraouf is a promising and cultured coach who treats everyone with respect, whether the technical staff or the players, and he is characterized by clarity and the ability to confront challenges."
The football director spoke about the media pressure the club is facing, saying: "There are 21 clubs in the league, yet some insist on spreading false news about Zamalek. Everyone shares what aligns with their affiliation and perspective."
He pointed out that what is happening within Zamalek is normal and occurs in all clubs, explaining that having strong competition among the goalkeepers is a positive thing, especially since the club has three of the best goalkeepers in Egypt, in addition to a rising goalkeeper who is expected to have a great future.
Abdel Nasser continued: "Competition is natural, and our role is to evaluate and ensure that everyone is on the right path. Those who repeatedly and deliberately violate the rules will have no place with us."
He also criticized the amount of negative news circulating about the club, emphasizing that it is not based on the truth and aims to put pressure on the team. He added, "We are not affected by the pressure. Everyone here is a professional."
He concluded his statements by saying: "We are accustomed to financial crises, and every team in the league suffers from them, but the focus is always on Zamalek. Some people should also look at what is happening with others."
