Former Zamalek Player Attacks White Knights Duo
Haitham Farouk, former Zamalek player, criticized the White Knights duo after the draw with South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Zamalek drew 1-1 with Kaizer Chiefs in a match during the second round of the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Haitham Farouk said on "beIN Sports" channel: "Mistakes are part of football, and unfortunately, goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi cost Zamalek two points."
He added: "The match between Zamalek and Al-Masry Port Said will be very difficult because of the top position in the group standings."
He continued: "Zamalek played well, and the referee made mistakes on two occasions: the penalty for Chico Panza and the disallowed goal by Seif Al-Jaziri were clear favors. We should have scored another goal."
He explained: "Mohamed Sobhi is unlucky, and I hope this matter passes quickly. He is sad because of Juan Alfina Bezira, as he is much better than that."
He added: "Zamalek club was affected after the departure of Seif Al-Jaziri. Banza and Pezera need to reset; play for the team, not for yourselves."
He concluded: "Zamalek is still experimenting to achieve harmony, and the new coach must know what he is doing."
