Ahmed Abdel Raouf Talks About Zamalek's Draw with Kaizer Chiefs
Ahmed Abdel Raouf, the technical director of Zamalek, spoke about his team's draw with South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs in the African Confederation Cup.
The match between Zamalek and Kaizer Chiefs ended in a 1-1 draw in a game held this evening, Saturday, during the second round of the African Confederation Cup.
Abdel Raouf said at the press conference after the match: "I thank the players for their performance in the game. Kaizer Chiefs is a well-known team, but they didn’t reach Zamalek’s goal in the first half, and they had only one chance in the second half. Meanwhile, we missed many opportunities throughout both halves. Conceding a goal from a mistake in the final minutes is my personal responsibility, and Mohamed Sobhi is a great goalkeeper."
He continued: "We secured a draw and will prepare for the upcoming matches to compete for the top spot in the group. I refuse to talk about the refereeing in today's match."
He added: "We lost two points in today's match, and conceding a goal due to a mistake in the last minute saddens us all. Zamalek is a great team competing in all the tournaments they participate in."
